Privacy Policy
Mimir Gate is provided by Mimirs Foresight LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how Mimir Gate accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.
Mimir Gate is designed as a local Android phone and spam-control app. The app does not use a cloud service, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, billing SDK, or internet permission in the current version.

Information Mimir Gate Accesses or Uses on Your Device
Mimir Gate may access or use the following information locally on your device:
- Contacts — contact names, phone numbers, and contact photos, used to identify saved callers and show contact information in the app.
- Phone numbers and caller information — incoming and outgoing phone numbers, caller labels provided by Android or your carrier, and whether a caller matches your contacts or spam rules.
- Local recents — a local list of calls handled by Mimir Gate, such as incoming, outgoing, missed, silenced, rejected, or dropped calls.
- Android call history, only if you choose to import it — recent call-log entries are copied into Mimir Gate's encrypted local Recents list so you can see prior calls inside the app.
- Block rules — exact numbers and wildcard rules that you add to the spam list.
- App settings — protection mode, theme, app text size, haptic feedback, dialpad tones, spam-handling rules, timeout choices, Trusted Speed Dial settings, diagnostics setting, and similar preferences.
- Local diagnostics, if enabled — troubleshooting notes used to understand app behavior. Phone numbers are redacted by default in diagnostic text.
Mimir Gate requests Android call history access only when you choose the one-time import option. The import flow explains what will happen, asks you to authenticate with your Android device lock, and then shows the Android permission prompt. Importing call history does not upload call data and does not delete Android call history.
How Information Is Used
Mimir Gate uses information only to provide phone-app features on your device, including:
- Showing contact names and photos.
- Letting saved contacts ring normally.
- Applying local spam and block rules.
- Showing incoming call screens and missed-call notifications.
- Letting you place calls from the keypad, contacts, and local recents.
- Importing Android call history into local recents when you explicitly choose that option.
- Creating optional Android home-screen shortcuts from Contacts, Recents, or Trusted Speed Dial.
- Applying simple protection mode presets after you review what will change and authenticate with Android device security.
- Letting you clear local recents and manage block rules.
- Helping diagnose local app behavior when diagnostics are enabled.
Information Sent Off Your Device
Mimir Gate does not transmit your contacts, phone numbers, call history, block rules, settings, voicemail, call audio, diagnostics, or search text to Mimirs Foresight LLC or to a backend service in the current version.
Mimir Gate does not include third-party advertising, analytics, billing, or crash-reporting SDKs in the current version.
Android, Google Play, your mobile carrier, device manufacturer, and other apps may process information independently under their own terms and privacy policies. For example, your carrier handles cellular calls, and Google Play handles app distribution.
Permissions
Mimir Gate may request these Android permissions:
- Contacts — used to show saved contacts, contact names, and contact photos.
- Phone — used to place and manage calls when you tap call actions.
- Answer Calls — used when Android requires explicit permission for the app to answer calls during deliberate Drop behavior.
- Notifications — used for incoming call, missed call, and call-status alerts.
- Call history — used only for the optional one-time Android call history import into encrypted local recents.
- Full-Screen Intent — used to show incoming call UI on top of the lock screen or other apps.
- Modify Audio Settings — used to quiet deliberate Drop handling so blocked callers do not startle you.
- Vibrate — used for app haptic feedback.
- Wake Lock — used to keep the incoming call experience responsive while a call is arriving.
Mimir Gate does not request internet, SMS, microphone, storage, billing, or advertising ID permissions in the current version.
Storage and Security
Mimir Gate stores app settings, local recents, block rules, and diagnostics in app-private storage on your device. Local recents, block rules, and diagnostics are encrypted at rest by the app. Android app sandboxing also helps prevent other apps from reading private app data.
Privacy Mode blocks screenshots and app-preview thumbnails while Mimir Gate is open. Turning Privacy Mode off requires Android device authentication. Mimir Gate may also request Android device authentication before sensitive local actions such as importing Android call history or applying aggressive protection presets. Android handles the authentication; Mimir Gate does not receive your PIN, password, fingerprint, or face data.
No method of device storage or software security is perfect. You should keep your device locked, updated, and protected with your normal Android security settings.
Retention
Mimir Gate keeps local app data until you remove it, reset app data, or uninstall the app.
- Local recents, including imported Android call history entries copied into Mimir Gate, can be cleared from Mimir Gate settings.
- Block rules can be removed from Mimir Gate settings.
- Contacts and the Android system call log are managed by Android, your device, your carrier, and other phone apps. They are not owned by Mimir Gate.
- Uninstalling Mimir Gate removes app-private data from the device, subject to Android backup and restore settings.
Deletion Choices
Mimir Gate does not create user accounts and does not store your data on Mimirs Foresight LLC servers.
To delete local app data:
- Open Mimir Gate.
- Open Settings.
- Use the available clearing controls for local recents or block rules.
- Or use Android Settings > Apps > Mimir Gate > Storage > Clear data.
- Or uninstall Mimir Gate.
Because Mimir Gate does not operate a cloud account system, there is no server-side account to delete. See also: Data Deletion.
Children
Mimir Gate is not directed to children. The app is intended for users who manage their own phone calls and Android phone settings.
Changes to This Policy
Mimirs Foresight LLC may update this Privacy Policy as Mimir Gate changes. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
